What is good stress?
If we live in the city there are all kinds of sounds that
we constantly take into our body from our living environments.
Loud sounds can elevate our stress levels, create imbalances in our nervous system,
lower our immunity and in extreme cases, cause hearing loss –
like at heavy metal concerts.
When we are stressed, our whole relationship to sound changes,
and regular everyday sounds can become magnified
and contribute to the feedback cycle of the stress, amplifying it even more.
With Vibrational Healing sessions and home healing techniques,
we can become better listeners and more aware of the sounds we take in.
Sometimes it is best to wear earplugs around the city
– (and for sure in loud music concerts)
that way you find you have lowered noise around us… so we can listen within.
Or to our favorite music as we walk down a busy street.
Stress is something that makes all health conditions worse.
We are starting to understand just how unhealthy chronic stress is as a lifestyle.
We seek balance, calm, and contentment and even reach for bliss
when it shows itself to us -in love or sharing a good laugh with friends,
or dancing at a Yoga festival.
There are times our body feels ecstatic and we can choose a lifestyle
where we add in moments of bliss in where ever we can find it.
We can be quite delicate – and it is important to see
when we need more sacred rituals in our life that add
to our meditation practice and
chanting mantras, chimes, and bowls sounding –
all adds up to your life feeling a little more sacred.
I like to add Tea & Tonic to my meditation time.
I make a tonic with all kinds of superfoods and
drink that down and then have a teapot that
I set down where I meditate and have tea after I meditate
and write down any of the insights that came.
Making life a little more sacred is a talent you are born with.
From Very Well Mind:
Good Stress vs. Bad Stress
“Good stress,” or what psychologists refer to as “eustress,” is the type of stress we feel when we are excited. Our pulse quickens and our hormones surge, but there is no threat or fear. We feel this type of stress when we ride a roller coaster, compete for a promotion, or go on a first date. There are many triggers for this good stress, and it keeps us feeling alive and excited about life.
Another type of stress is acute stress. It comes from quick surprises that need a response. Acute stress triggers the body’s stress response as well, but the triggers aren’t always happy and exciting. This is what we normally think of as “stress” (or “bad stress”). Acute stress in itself doesn’t take a heavy toll if we find ways to relax quickly. Once the stressor has been dealt with, we need to return our body to homeostasis, or its pre-stress state, to be healthy and happy.
Chronic stress is another form of bad stress. It occurs when we repeatedly face stressors that take a heavy toll and feel inescapable. A stressful job or an unhappy home life can bring chronic stress. This is what we normally think of as serious stress. Because our bodies aren’t designed for chronic stress, we can face negative health effects (both physical and emotional) if we experience chronic stress for an extended period of time.
Chanting and vocal toning are powerful practices
that give us the ability to resonate with our body
– our own vibrational instrument.
Slow deep breathing and vocal toning is a wonderful thing to
add to your daily meditation practice for a deeper sense
of sacredness into your daily routine.
What’s brain waves got to do with it?
We have many brain waves that offer different activities for the brain
as it goes deeper into states of calm. Entrainment – is what we call it when we are
pulled into the music as it synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing
a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to.
By using rhythm and frequency,
it becomes possible to down-shift into deeper and deeper states of relaxation.
Using our breath can enhance our shift to deeper calm – deep slow full belly breaths calm us deeper.
These are the brain wave frequencies and how we use them –
this is an AcuTuning Fork Set that you can do for Insomnia or Adrenal Fatigue:
Beta state (normal waking consciousness)
Alpha (relaxed consciousness)
Theta (meditative state)
Delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).
Vibrational Healing has been part of many cultures for thousands of years.
Through the use of mantras as with the Hindis,
Chanting call and response to practice Bakti Yoga –
the yoga of music, dance, art, and celebration.
Indigenous peoples from all over the world
have used sound for healing…
and the medicine man would chant or sing
and perhaps use a drum
or shaker to bring the good spirits in for healing.
And with the Greeks – we know that women would come to the temple
to give birth in the serene calm chanting of the holy ones to ease her pain.
Pythagoras offered us the music of the sphere and gentle music
has always been something that was valued for the many positive emotions that it offers.
What are some of the issues that Vibrational Healing can improve?
- Sleep disorders
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress management
- PTSD
- Depression
- Pain management
The physical body is where we experience localized pain and discomfort.
Using tuning forks, especially AcuTuning Forks (they vibrate at lower frequencies),
we can stimulate the release of Nitric Oxide,
a free radical molecule that has been proven to
positively affect pain transmission.
That’s because it opens our blood vessels as needed –
giving us more oxygen – and that helps everything.
These frequencies help to create a positive physiological reaction,
and the actual frequency of the sound itself helps to influence our auditory system,
allowing us to change our relationship to the pain.
Energetic blockages can eventually show up in our physical bodies,
which is why it’s important to look at healing and
balance not only from a physical perspective but
as a complete holistic experience that includes mind, body, and spirit.
As issues come up for us emotionally.
It is a signal that it is time to look deeper into the issue
and see if we are ready to change how we view the blockage –
if we are ready to upgrade our perspective and when we do – we heal.
The energetic imbalances and traumas we have experienced still live in our body
until the lesson is learned that it came to teach us and we can let it go.
Forgiveness heals us deeply when we understand that it is not about
the people or situation that we are forgiving –
it is about us allowing forgiveness into our hearts – as a gift to our future self…
we let it go and understand how it sets us free and
we may never have interactions with the person or situation again…
the forgiveness lives inside us now – we chose peace over chaos.
And that is its own best reward.
